Wild Game Recipe: Traditional Venison Chili
- 2 ½ lb. ground venison
- 1 ½ lb. bacon
- 1 T. chili powder
- 1 ½ tsp. pepper
- ½ gal. cooked kidney beans
- 4 No. 3 cans of tomatoes
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 sm. onion
- ½ tsp. cumin seed
- ½ gal. Water
- Cut bacon into small pieces; brown until crisp.
- Add venison and brown.
- Combine the remaining ingredients.
- Add browned meat and enough water to cover.
- Simmer for 2 hours. Serves 20.
